World forecast

SIGNPOST

Made by PscOT

Ask a question or name a powerful person. Time has one variable, σ. The sky is a set of future nodes on that measure, not the date of the answer.

User Guide in 9 Simple Steps

How to understand and use the WSP forecasting application

  1. 1. Ask a question about the future

Write a precise question, such as: When might a political leader lose power? A clear question makes the forecast easier to interpret and evaluate.

  2. 2. Choose your starting date

This is the day SIGNPOST begins its analysis. Everything before this date belongs to the known past; everything afterward belongs to the projected future.

  3. 3. Collect important past events

Enter the significant events related to your question: decisions, conflicts, alliances, breakthroughs, or reversals. These establish the initial pattern.

  4. 4. Understand the three WSP forces

SIGNPOST uses three concepts: Theta (Θ) measures how concentrated events are; Phi (Φ) describes the direction and intensity of change; Kappa (K) represents the complexity of relationships and obstacles.

  5. 5. Identify natural and artificial obstacles

Some constraints emerge naturally from events. Others are imposed by institutions, rules, or external systems. SIGNPOST distinguishes these as natural and synthetic knots.

  6. 6. Run the simulation

Press the forecast or simulation command. SIGNPOST combines the WSP variables to calculate how the modeled situation could evolve. The current engine uses a simplified mathematical approximation.

  7. 7. Read sigma instead of ordinary time

Sigma (σ) measures progression through changes in the modeled system, not simply hours or days. A major transformation can correspond to a large change in sigma even during a short calendar period.

  8. 8. Interpret the forecast

Examine the graph for acceleration, stagnation, reversals, and possible turning points. Any dates shown are estimates derived from the model’s assumptions, not guaranteed future events.

  9. 9. Save, compare, and improve

Export your results, preserve the original forecast, and compare it with what actually happens. This is how you determine whether SIGNPOST provides useful predictions rather than merely interesting patterns.

SIGNPOST does not claim to see the future. It models how a situation might evolve from its current pattern of forces and constraints. Its predictions become meaningful only when tested against actual events.
